Thoubal, May 19 2024: Former Moirang Assembly Constituency MLA M Prithviraj distributed uniforms to Young Smart Unity Club Phubala players gearing up for the 3rd Division Football League to be held on May 22 organised by DFA Moirang as well as under 15 and under 15 players of the club.

The uniforms were sponsored by ex-serviceman Ch Dingku.

The event was graced by the former MLA, SDO Wangjing Tentha Ch Somarendro, retd EE L Gokulchandra and ex-serviceman Ch Dingku as the presidium members.

Stressing on the importance of having a "dream", M Prithiviraj said that in order to become a successful sports person, one must have a role model to emulate and learn the biography of eminent global sports personalities.

Addressing the gathering, SDO Ch Somarendra spoke about the need for discipline and importance of maintaining a good physique to play a sport.

Encouraging the players, he urged them to remember that many well-known sports persons have very humble and poor beginnings.

Meanwhile, EE L Gokulchandra stressed on the role of sports in not only creating a good society but also bringing it on the path to development.

Lauding the training given to the under 13 and under 15 players, he maintained that moulding children while they still young is the right step.

In addition, Ch Dingku hailed everyone involved in shaping the young players while M Prithiviraj and Ch Somarendra donated a sum of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
