CBC Imphal organises Mini ICOP on "Swachhata Hi Seva"

The Central Bureau of Communication , (CBC), Regional Office Imphal, organised a Mini Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on the theme "Swachhata Hi Seva" at its office complex today.
The event aimed to promote the importance of cleanliness and hygiene as part of the Nationwide "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" and raise awareness about the role of citizens in maintaining a clean environment.
Loukrakpam Tombi Devi, Corporator of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC), graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Delivering her speech, she emphasized the significance of community participation in the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
She highlighted the need for concerted efforts by citizens to uphold cleanliness standards in public spaces and urged the attendees to actively contribute to the campaign.
Further, the Corporator highlighted certain issues faced by IMC due to constraints of funds.
She added that IMC has been facing serious issues for the last many years and has been working with only 2/3rd manpower.
She urged the State Government to take steps so as to mitigate the issues faced by the Corporation and enable it to deliver public service at their fullest strength.
She said that IMC covers seven Assembly Constituencies which are further divided into 27 Wards.
Moirangthem Rustum Singh, Field Exhibition Officer, CBC Chandel commended the relentless efforts of Safai Mitras and other sanitation workers who play a crucial role in maintaining hygiene and health standards in the community.
He called upon the citizens to recognize the dignity of labour and support the Safai Mitras in their endeavours.
Dr N Reena, Field Publicity Officer and Head of Office, CBC Regional Office Imphal, reiterated the commitment of the CBC towards supporting the Swachh Bharat Mission through various outreach programmes and encouraged the gathering to actively engage in cleanliness drives and awareness activities.
The event featured Various activities, including talks by resource persons and interactive sessions, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to cleanliness and a healthier environment.
The participants also discussed best practices for waste management, the role of Safai Mitras, and the importance of sustainable sanitation.
Trees were also planted around the office complex of Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office Imphal as part of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.
As part of the programme, Safai Mitras were felicitated and honoured for their relentless work towards keeping the city clean.
A written quiz competition was also held for school students during the event.
Similar programmes were also held in different Regional Offices and Field Offices under Central Bureau of Communication, ADG Region (Imphal) such as CBC, RO, Itanagar, FO Chandel, Senapati, Tamenglong, Aizawl and Kohima.
