Rally against mob lynching continues at Jiribam

Jiribam, September 21 2018:
Locals of Islamabad and Chingdong Leikai, under Dibong Gram Panchayat of Jiribam district carried out a torch rally from Islamabad to Chingdong Leikai today condemning the mob lynching incidentanditstrendin the State.
The protesters held up placards and raised slogan reading "We strongly condemn the brutal killing", "Stop mob lynching", "We want justice for Farooque" etc.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the protest, one Kh Abdul Khan of Chingdong Leikai ward no 1 said mat the locals gathered to take out the rally against mob lynching culture in the State, which has been occurring in various places of Manipur.
Recalling the incident of September 13 at Tharoijam village of Patsoi constituency, he on behalf of all the people condemned the act and appealed the authority concerned to book the culprit involved in the lynching of Farooque Khan.
President of Meitei Pangal Women Development and Welfare Association, Islamabad unit, on behalf of women of Islamabad and Chingdong Leikai Nurina Begum, conveyed that incident was a barbaric act.
She further appealed to authority concerned to enact a law against mob lynching and also urged the State Government to serve fitting punishment to all the culprits at the earliest.
The torch rally was jointly organised by CKC Chingdong Leikai Pt-II and Rainbow Club, Islamabad, Jiribam.
