Appoint regular VC of MTU, says AMMSO

Imphal, May 11 2024: The All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) has appealed to the State Government to appoint a regular Vice Chancellor of Manipur Technical University (MTU) at the earliest to save the career of the students.

In a release, AMMSO said that the normal academic as well as administrative activities in Manipur Technical University, the only technical university in the State, has suffered due to absence of a regular VC since January 27, 2023 .

The AMMSO also alleged that the failure to appoint a regular VC for the last one year and four months shows the Government's complete disregard for the welfare of the students community.

Highlighting that the VC in-charge of MTU also holds the posts of Education Commissioner and Home Commissioner, the AMMSO urged the State Government and authorities concerned to take look into the matter and take necessary steps to save the lives & career of the students studying in the varsity.
