District Level Officers resolve to adopt a TB patient each

Kamjong, September 08 2026:
A district level officers' review meeting was held today at the Camp Office of Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong located at 2nd MR complex, Imphal.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong LN Kashung and attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner HL Jain; Sub-Divisional Officers of Kamjong, Phungyar, Sahamphung and Kasom Khullen, District Level Officers (DLOs) and representatives from different departments among others.
The meeting evaluated the initiatives taken in the district under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan which was launched with the aim of eliminating tuberculosis(TB).
Challenges faced in implementation of the mission in the district, including lack of proper infrastructure, human resource and others were discussed.
Deputy Commissioner LN Kashung stressed the need to strengthen screening and testing for identifying persons with TB infection in the district.
The meeting unanimously decided to voluntarily adopt a TB patient each by District Level Officers to help provide nutritional support at the rate of Rs 1000 per month per patient for a period of six months.
Following the decision, the DC and a few other officers have resolved to adopt one TB patient each in compliance with the Nikshay Mitra initiative.
The Deputy Commissioner further reviewed the development initiatives taken up under different welfare schemes by various departments in the district.
Under the Vibrant Village Programme -II, District Level Officers of various departments were asked to identify work programs relevant to particular villages amongst 54 villages which are included under the said scheme.
Necessity to make the villagers aware of the benefits which can be availed under the scheme were also discussed.
The DC also heard the grievances and hurdles in meting out developmental work raised by various departments and measures necessary to redress the same were also discussed thoroughly.
