Senapati, June 06 2024:
The Senapati District Truck Owners Association has appealed to the authorities concerned to repair the damaged bridge and stretch of road along NH-2 for free flow of goods vehicles.
In a press release issued in connection with the above appeal, secretary of the association K Daikho mentioned that the recent flood in Manipur had caused landslide along the NH-37 (Imphal-Jiri road) and subsequently restrictions were imposed on the movement of Heavy Motor Vehicles beyond 12 tonnes on NH-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road).
The above restriction will lead to shortage of essential commodities in the State if the same is not lifted soon, said the release.
In view of the above, the Senapati District Truck Owners' Association and Senapati District Truck Drivers' Union appealed to the NHIDCL and its contractors concerned to restore the movement of all vehicles along NH-2 by repairing the damaged bridge along the Kohima-Mao Road, NH-2 near BPCLE Service Station in Jakhama at the earliest for free flow of goods carrying trucks in public interest.
