Tributes paid to Irabot

Imphal, September 30 2025:
The 129th birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot was observed by the Lamyanba Irabot Ningshing Thouram Observation Committee (LINTOC) at Lamyanba Shanglen, Konung Mamang today.
Today was the last day of a month-long birth anniversary celebration, LINTOC had launched under the theme "Athoubashingna Katthok-e" under the aegis of the Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) .
At the ceremony at Lamyanba Shanglen today, people paid floral tributes to a portrait of Lamyanba Irabot.

The gathering observed a 2-minute silence as a mark of respect to Irabot and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Manipur's integrity.
Speaking on the occasion, LINTOC's co-convenor, Konthoujam Thoiba said Irabot made monumental contributions in protecting and preserving Manipur's unity and integrity.
Irabot stood against the British's colonial Government and worked to bring about a just equal society.
The youths of the present generation must study his life and follow his path, he added.
The committee's co-convenor Y Tiken said Manipur at present needs leaders like Irabot who can gather and unite the people to protect the State's integrity.
PPCM's convenor Oinam Premjit said Irabot was a patriot who fought for the poor and the oppressed.
