Ukhrul, January 24 2015 :
The Ukhrul District Teachers' Welfare Association (UDTWA) has expressed deep resentment against the officer concerned of Education Dept, ADC, Ukhrul for imposing unreasonable pressure upon the headmasters of the ADC by necessitating explanation calls from them, reports Mungchan Zimik.
UDTWA said that the explanation call was served to the headmasters only because of the SMDC member's failure to attend the two days seminar on Jan 7 and 8 at DRDA hall, Ukhrul.
The headmasters' December advance pay was also allegedly held up as penalty by the higher authority.
In a joint press conference organised by UDTWA and UDHA at Ukhrul District Working Journalists' Association office at Viewland, president of UDTWA said holding up of the advance pay of 93 headmasters under Ukhrul ADC was not just nor fair.
The headmasters have no rights and authority to control the SMDC members as they are neither Government employees nor staff but called for were elected by the villagers to look after the welfare of the schools, he said.
The headmasters had already submitted a written statement providing reasons for the absence of SMDC members in the seminar.
However, the officer concerned has issued explanation call to the headmasters which is uncalled for, he added.
The headmasters' association (UDHA) also alleged that they were asked to sign on blank APR for reimbursement of TA at the seminar.
The two bodies therefore urged the higher authority to look into the matter and do the needful at the earliest.
