NE mega craft expo ends

The 16 days exclusive North East Mega Craft Expo organised by Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council concluded at Dilli Haat, New Delhi.
Touted as one of the most ambitious projects of Sadar Hills ADC, the expo titled "The North East Craft Expo-2015" was inaugurated by MP Dr Thokchom Meinya on January 17 while the Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills Haokholal Hangshing gave the welcome and the key note address, according to a statement.
The exclusive expo showcased the various unique craft and arts of the North East region comprising the eight States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
The unique products of each State with rich cultural heritages was displayed with lively cultural programmes.
This is an open event where people from all walks of life thronged the venue .
The event aimed to promote the rich and vibrant arts and culture of the indigenous people and to provide them direct exposure to urban consumers and create awareness of inter-regional and National marketing as well as to be exposed to new potential National markets, like Dilli Haat.
The event concluded on Jan 31 with the support and co-operation of the Ministry of Textile, Govt of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of DoNER, the Delhi Transport & Tourism Development Corporation Ltd, and well-wishers.
