Awareness programme on CMHT, AB-PMJAY held

Kangpokpi, March 27 2026:
The District Implementation Unit (DIU) Kangpokpi, in collaboration with the State Health Agency and State Nodal Cell, Manipur, organised a health awareness programme on Chief Minister-giHakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT), Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination at Phaijang Pre-Fabricated House under Saitu Gamphazol sub-division, Kangpokpi.
During the programme, CMHT and AB-PMJAY programme coordinators apprised the public on the benefits of the schemes, highlighting eligibility criteria - specifically mentioning AAY card holders, persons with disabilities, widows, and senior citizens aged 70 years and above under the Vay Vandana category.
The coordinators explained the process of card generation and access to cashless treatment upto Rs 5 lakh at empanelled hospitals, stressing the need for Aadhaar and relevant documents for enrolment.
District Immunization Officer, Dr Mangboi highlighted the critical link between the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer, which is one of the most common cancers among women in India.
He informed that the Government is providing free HPV vaccines to girls aged 9 to 14 and cautioned against misinformation circulating on social media regarding vaccine safety, urging the public to rely on verified medical information.
SDO of Saitu Gamphazol, Paotinsei Kipgen, and Chief Medical Officer Paokai Kipgen also addressed the gathering, encouraging people to stay informed about health schemes and preventive healthcare.
As part of the programme, 20 CMHT cards were distributed to eligible beneficiaries.
