REVA University celebrates International Day of Yoga

REVA University marked the International Day of Yoga with a vibrant day-long celebration on its campus, in collaboration with the Mahavatar Foundation.
As per a release issued by REVA University, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and yoga practitioners, reinforcing the significance of yoga in enhancing physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
Dr P Shyama Raju, Chancellor of REVA University, presided over the event, emphasised that "Yoga instills discipline, nurtures the mind, and builds inner strength.
With these foundations in place, the path to achieving one's goals becomes clearer and more focused".

Dr John Ebnezar, who was the chief guest of the event, spoke about the importance of yoga and how the practice of yoga can help develop a disciplined and healthy lifestyle.
He elaborated on the deep impact that yoga and meditation can have on the balance of body and mind, far more effectively than many modem methods, and highlighted yoga's role in safeguarding global health.
Speaking about the significance of International Yoga Day, Dr John Ebnezar noted, "June 21 is the longest day of the year, symbolising harmony, unity, and strength.
That is why this day has been chosen to celebrate International Yoga Day".
As part of the International Day of Yoga celebrations at REVA University, thousands participated in the Samuhika Yoga Abhyasa and Common Yoga Protocol practice led by senior Yoga masters.
The mass yoga session built unity, well-being, and collective mindfulness, showcasing the power of yoga to bring people together in pursuit of holistic health.
The celebrations began with an invocation through a Yoga Dance by students of REVA PU College, Kattigenahalli, followed by a symbolic Green Inauguration where saplings were watered by the dignitaries.
A dynamic yoga session was led by Yogamitra Dr A Subramanian, Secretary, Indian Yoga Association- Karnataka Chapter, setting the tone for the day.
The event also featured a seminar on the significance of yoga and meditation in leading a healthy life, complemented by a live music meditation session by professional musicians.
Holistic Wellness workshops drew wide interest, covering diverse therapies including Marma Therapy, Shivambu Chikitsa (AutoUrine Therapy), Mudra Therapy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Crystal Healing, and Sound Healing.
The event was graced by Dr C M Ranganath, Founder, Mahavatar Foundation, Bengaluru; Dr Sanjay R Chitnis, Vice Chancellor; and Dr K S Narayanaswamy, Registrar, REVA University, reaffirming the institution's vision of integrating traditional wisdom with modem education.
