Seva Sankalp Abhiyan activities underway

Chandel/Kakching/Kamjong/Pherzawl, September 21 2026: As part of the ongoing nationwide "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan", a wide range of public outreach and service activities are being conducted across the districts in Manipur.

Chandel

Aangan Ka Utsav was organised in Chandel district with the objective of strengthening community engagement and creating awareness on nutrition, health and child development through Anganwadi Centres.

In line with the programme, visits were undertaken to various Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) by Mamoni Doley, Deputy Commissioner, senior district officials and field functionaries, including CDPOs and Supervisors.

During the visits, the officials interacted with Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), ASHAs and local villagers and reviewed the activities being carried out at the centres.

The visiting officials emphasised the importance of proper nutrition, child care, maternal health and early childhood development.

Awareness was also imparted to the community on the significance of nutritious food and healthy practices for the overall growth and well-being of children.

Under the action plan, Anganwadi Centres including Liwachangning A, Beru Anthi AWC, Litan B AWC, Mantripantha A and Riverland Community Hall.

Riverland were visited and interacted.

Kakching

As part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, the Zonal Education Office (Kakching), under the supervision of the District Administration Kakching, organised an essay writing, painting and rangoli- making activities at various schools across Kakching district today under the theme "My Vision of Viksit Manipur-2047".A total of 116 students participated in the activities held at 9 schools across the district.

The participating schools were Sora Khunou Upper Primary School, Kakching Wairi Junior High School, Khoidum Upper Primary School, Lamjao Upper Primary School.

Thounaojam Upper Primary School, Pangantabi Upper Primary School, Serou Manipuri Upper Primary School, Pallel Junior High School and Arong High School.

Meanwhile, a nutrition awareness programme was organised at Wabagai Kadajit under Ayushman Arogya Mandir-Primary Health Sub Centre (AAM-PHSC), Wabagai, to raise awareness about the importance of balanced diet, healthy eating habits and proper nutrition.

On the other hand, a hearing screening camp was organised at Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Langmeidong, in Kakching district as part of the International Week of Deaf People 2026.ENT specialists from the State and district level, along with Audiology assistants, were present to conduct the screening and provide awareness on hearing-related issues.

The camp was organised by the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness (NPPCD), the District Health Society, NHM, Manipur, and the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Manipur.

Kamjong

Painting and essay competitions on 'My Vision of Viksit Manipur' were held today at Phungyar Higher Secondary School as a part of Art Seva programme of the on-going month long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026.The competition was organised by the Zonal Education Office, Kamjong under the supervision of District Administration, Kamjong.

Altogether, 53 students participated in the painting competition, while 41 students participated in the essay competition held today.

A Mobile Medical Unit Health Camp was also conducted at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Phungyar under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, Kamjong today.

During the camp, outpatient department service was provided wherein routine immunization was also administered.

Pherzawl

A painting competition for school students and distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers marked the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan at Parbung in Pherzawl district, bringing together initiatives focused on nurturing young minds and supporting the fanning community.

At Parbung Higher Secondary School, 38 students participated in a painting competition centred on the themes of public service and nation-building.

The event, supported and supervised by teachers, saw students express their ideas and aspirations through art.

The school authorities said such activities play an important role in fostering the values of service, patriotism and creativity among students.

In a separate programme, the District Agriculture Office, Pherzawl, organised a distribution programme of agricultural inputs for the year 2025-26 under the National Food Security Mission (NFSM) and the Rabi Seed, Distribution Programme under ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency).

Officials of the Agriculture Department, village authorities and local farmers attended the programme, with a large number of farmers, including women farmers, from Parbung and neighbouring Taithu village receiving the inputs.

The distributed items comprised 150 bags of urea, 150 bags of Orjaa BioFertilizer, 10 mini-kits each of blackgram, moong and urad under pulses, and three bags of soybean under oilseeds.

Agriculture officials said the initiative is aimed at enhancing food production and strengthening food security by ensuring timely availability of quality seeds and agricultural inputs to farmers.
