KSO expresses concern

Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), general headquarters, has expressed serious concern over the gunfight between 2/5 Gorkha Rifles and ZUF cadres at Molcham village, Henglep sub-division.
KSO, in a statement issued by its general secretary Seiboi Haokip said few ZUF cadres in the course of the gunfight reportedly fled to Kuki villages under Henglep sub-division and have been holding up at the villages ever since.
Stating that the presence of militant groups in the villages have posed a threat to the villagers, KSO thanked the Gorkha Rifles for showing restraint and not attacking the militants hiding among innocent civilians.
KSO has cautioned all the militant groups to refrain from using innocent villagers as human shield.
It has also appealed to the Gorkha Rifles to take precautionary measures to ensure that the villagers are not hurt in any raid or operation to follow.
In the meantime, KSO, Jiri and Tamenglong, has suspended the six-day long agitation against railway companies.
A decision to this effect was attained in a meeting held at KSO, Jiri and Tamenglong office today.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Engineer of Railways, Jiribam Section and SDPO Jiribam, a statement informed.
