Imphal, May 12 2024: As in other parts of the world, International Nurses Day was observed today at the Auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Porompat on the theme, "Our Nurses Our Future, The Economic Power of Care".

The celebration was jointly organised by TNAI, SNA Manipur State Branch and TNA JNIMS Unit.

It was attended by Dr S Sanahanbi Devi, Director, Health Services, Government of Manipur; N Tangbi devi, President, TNAI Manipur Branch; N Ibemhal Devi, Chief Nursing Officer, RIMS, Imphal and M Jibanlata Devi, Nursing Superintendent, JNIMS as presidium members.

Addressing the gathering.

Dr S Sanahanbi said that International Nurses Day is celebrated across the world, every year on the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale to mark the contributions of nurses towards society.

She maintained that nurses have been serving the society earnestly and lauded their selfless contributions especially during disastrous circumstances & challenging situations.

Felicitation of outstanding nurses who won State & National awards was the main highlight of the event.
