Utilization of drone in agricultural development highlighted

Imphal, March 12 2023: The Directorate of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal organised a programme on "Utilization of Drone in Agricultural Development" at Shangshak Khullen village, Ukhrul district on March 10 .

It was attended by Ram Muivah, MLA 44-AC Ukhrul; Dr SV Ngachan, Professor, Plant Pathology, School of Crop Protection, College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences, Umiam, Barapani; and Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma, Director of Extension Education and Principal Investigator of Farmer FIRST Programme, CAU, Imphal; and Headman, Shangshak Khullen village, Ukhrul district as presidium members.

Dr H Chaoba Singh, OSD (Finance), CAU, Imphal; Dr Th Nilachandra Singh, Consultant Fisheries, Central Farm, CAU, Imphal; Dr Ramesh Sharma, Asst Prof IIIT, Manipur; Dr Navanath Saharia, Asst Prof IIIT, Manipur; P Thangrajan, Chief Pilot- Agri, Dhakha Unmanned Systems, Ambattur, Chennai; Dr H Ramananda, SMS Plant Protection, KVK Andro Imphal East; and Dr Gunajit Oinam, SMS, Agri Engg KVK Andro Imphal East also took part in the programme.

As part of the programme, poultry chicks and vegetable seeds were also distributed to the farmers of Shangshak Khullen village.

Application of Nano Urea by Agricultural Drone was also demonstrated in an area of about 4 acres agricultural field in Shangshak Khullen village.

Faculty members, staff of KVK, Andro, Imphal East, FFP, Project staff of Central Agricultural University, Imphal and about 80 villagers also attended the programme.
