Imphal, May 11 2024: The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Imphal East in association with Child Marriage Prohibition Officer, Imphal East and District Administration, Imphal East organised a 1-day awareness programme on "Evil Consequences of Child Marriage" at Panchayat Bhavan, DC Complex, Porompat yesterday.

It was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East, Khumanthem Diana Devi; District Child Protection Officer, DCPU, Imphal East, Konjengbam Anita and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East, RK Dayananda Singh as presidium members.

Awareness programme on "Evil consequences of child marriage" held

The programme began with a welcome & keynote address delivered by Phurailatpam Devabrata, Protection Officer, DCPU, Imphal East.

Resource person of the programme, Reena Chanu Moirangthem, Child Marriage Protection Officer, Imphal East, also delivered a lecture on the topic, "Evil Consequences of Child Marriage" .

The event culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Amita Chanu, Social Worker, DCPU, Imphal East.
