CPMTR, Pune lauds MTDF, JAC

Tribal students bodies at Pune under the banner of the
Committee for Protection of Manipur Tribals' Right
(CPMTR), Pune against Anti-Tribal Bills have expressed its
appreciation and gratitude to Manipur Tribal Forum Delhi
(MTFD) and JAC (Against Anti-Tribal Bills) for their
enduring agitation against the 3 Bills that were passed by
Manipur Assembly on August 31, 2015.
CPMTR, Pune against Anti-Tribal Bills, in a statement
lauded various student organizations, women associations,
chiefs and the public for their untiring support to the
movement.
"The instructions that the three Bill be re-examined by
legal and Constitutional experts of India and it's our hope
that these controversial Bills will never be amended or
spoken again in future", CPMTR said in the statement.
Strongly condemning the recent crackdown on tribal pro-
testers at Manipur Bhavan in Delhi, CPMTR, Pune said
that the unprecedented use of force against the peaceful and
unarmed tribal protesters wherein several tribal students'
were assaulted, lathi charged and detained by Delhi Police
and Manipur Rifles personnel posted at Manipur Bhavan,
New Delhi is unacceptable.
The detention of 60 individuals including 12 women in
police custody for over 12 hours is inhumane, CPMTR
stated adding that such brutality towards innocent civilians
is unexpected in the capital city.
Going forward with the slogan "Together we can
achieve", CPMTR, Pune will stand against the controver-
sial Bills and render support to the JAC (Against
Anti-Tribal Bills) and MTFD in the days to come, it stated .
