Jiribam DC urges for calm

Jiribam, March 10 2025: Jiribam Deputy Commissioner/DM Krishna Kumar has called upon the people of the district to uphold peace, unity and communal harmony in Jiribam.

A notification issued by the Jiribam DC acknowledged that recent events have caused anxiety and uncertainty among the people.

He assured that the District Administration, in coordination with security forces, is steadfast in its commitment to ensure the safety, security and well-being of every resident while adding that they have maintained peace and harmony for the last many months.

"We are working in close coordination with law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations and community leaders to restore peace and harmony", he added.

Urging all citizens to act with restraint and wisdom, he appealed to them to refrain from spreading unverified information or rumours that could further escalate tensions.

He also urged everyone to remain calm, uphold the law and support the efforts of the District Administration, police and security forces in fostering lasting peace in the district.
