109 years of Liangmai Christianity in Manipur celebrated

The Liangmai Christian Churches Manipur celebrated 109 years of Liangmai Christianity in Manipur at Liangmai Baptist Centre Church, Lower Makhan under the theme, "The Truth Has Set Us Free" on December 5-6, 2023 .
According to a release issued by Liangmai Christian Churches Manipur, the event was organised to commemorate Apou Namrijinang, the "Liangmai Christian Pioneer" who embraced Christianity in 1914 .
The celebration began with the hoisting of a flag by WK Mazangbou of Seventh Day Adventist Church Kanglatongbi on December 5 .
Rev Chabonjinang Thiumai, executive secretary of Liangmai Baptist Churches Association Manipur (LBCA) unveiled the Monolith which reminded thousands of delegates that the Lord Jesus Christ has set them free from the bondage of sin and encouraged them not to use their spiritual liberty as a license to break the law of God & the law of land, but to serve the Lord and mankind.
The Celebration Souvenir was released by Rev R Charaibou, former president of LBCA.
The celebration dwelt on the pivotal role played by Apou Namrijinang on the advance of Christianity in Zeliangrong Pui community.
With a renewed Hope and embracing the truth, the celebration flag was de-hoisted by Rev Achow Thiumai.
