National seminar on 'Women's Empowerment in the Indian Knowledge System' kicks off at Nambol

As part of the ongoing Sanskrit Saptah celebrations, a two-day National seminar on the theme "Women's Empowerment in the Indian Knowledge System" was inaugurated today at the Radha Madhava Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Nambol.
The seminar was formally opened in the college's Seminar Hall by Prof Kishore Padhi, an eminent Sanskrit scholar and former Vice-Chancellor of Shri Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri.
The inaugural function was further graced by Shijagurumayum Vedeshor Sharma, who attended as the guest of honour.
The seminar features four technical sessions focusing on the portrayal of women in traditional Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and exploring their roles and avenues for empowerment through knowledge and education.
The first day featured technical sessions chaired by Prof Meera Dwivedi, Senior Professor, Delhi University, and Prof C Lalitarani, National Sanskrit University, Tirupati.
Prof Nandapuri, KKSU, Ramtek; Dr Loopamudra Goswami, KBVSAS, Assam; Dr Poonam Singh, Dept of Sanskrit, DAVPG College, Varanasi; Dr Preeti Pujara, DCM Commerce and Arts College, Viramgam, Ahmedabad; Dr Runima Sharma, Bhattadev University, Bajali, Assam; and Dr Suneli Dei, HoD, Dept of Sanskrit, GM University, Sambalpur participated the sessions as resource persons and presented their respective research articles.
Sanskrit Saptah, being celebrated from August 2 to August 9, 2025, includes a series of outreach and academic activities.
As part of the celebration, the college team conducted educational visits to JNV Bishnupur, Ram Krishna Mission School, Imphal, Brighter English School, Nambol, and Nambol Higher Secondary School, where interactive sessions were held on Value Education, Sanskrit, and Indian Knowledge Systems, followed by a written test.
The top three performers from these sessions will be felicitated during the closing ceremony of the Sanskrit Saptah on August 9, 2025 .
