BRIC-IBSD, Manipur University sign MoU

Imphal, November 06 2026: The BRIC-Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (BRIC-IBSD), Imphal, and Manipur University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to strengthen mutual cooperation in academics, scientific research and institutional development.

The MoU was signed by Dr Nanaocha Sharma, Director (Additional Charge), BRIC-IBSD, Imphal, and Prof M Premjit Singh, Registrar, Manipur University, in presence of Professor RK Hemakumar Singh, Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) of Manipur University.

BRIC-Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (BRIC-IBSD), Imphal, is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.

The MoU seeks to promote collaborative academic and research activities, facilitate access to sophisticated facilities available at both institutions, and encourage the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

The partnership is expected to create new opportunities for researchers, faculty members and students of both institutions.

It will foster interdisciplinary collaboration, enhance scientific capacity and support the effective use of institutional resources and advanced research facilities, said the institutions.

Through this MoU, the institutes said they reaffirm their commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, academic excellence and sustainable development through meaningful institutional cooperation.

BRIC-IBSD's scientists, Dr Sudripta Das and Dr Ch Brajakishor Singh, Senior Administrative Officer Dr W Mohendro Singh, and MU's Dean of School of Life Sciences Prof N Mohilal Meitei, Head of Department of Zoology Prof Ksh Birla Singh and Head of Department of Botany Prof Ksh Lalbihari were present at the signing of the MoU .
