Imphal, September 21 2026: BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary K Saratkumar has filed a police complaint against several Congress leaders for allegedly "facilitating and disseminating inflammatory and communal statements" .

The complaint which sought the police to register an FIR named several Congress leaders including Namsulung Gonmei, Samuel Jendai and the president of INC Tamenglong district.

The complaint alleged that the Congress leaders allegedly facilitated and made communal statements during a political campaign at Rangkhung village Part-I, Noney district on September 16 .

The alleged communal statements during the campaign portrayed Hindu religion and beliefs in a derogatory and hostile manner, which were likely to incite public disorder, said the complaint.

Enclosing copies of video clips of alleged speeches made during the campaign, the complaint asked the police to register FIR against the Congress leaders under relevant Sections of the BNS .
