Imphal, October 09 2024: Manipur University of Culture Guest Faculty Association (MUCGFA) staged a protest demonstration at Old Secretariat, Babupara demanding removal of the Registrar of the varsity within 5 days.

During the protest demonstration, members of the MUCGFA led by its president B Gopiram Sharma met Art and Culture Commissioner M Joy and submitted their demands.

The demands include removal of the current Registrar of MUC, Laishram Radhakanta within 5 days, regularisation of 28 guest faculty and adequate classrooms for students within a week.

MUCGFA president Gopiram said the Manipur University of Culture lacks infrastructure which has hindered its functioning.

Art and Culture has brought laurels to the State, but the university which is here to promote culture has been neglected, he said.

He said the Registrar, who is not sincere in his work, should be removed from his post within 5 days and allow the university to function properly.
