MWU organises one-day legal awareness / career guidance

Senapati, August 21 2025: A one-day legal awareness cum career guidance programme was held on Wednesday at the Auditorium Hall of Maram Union, Secretariat Complex, Tahamzam, Senapati.

The event, themed "Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies: The Power of Awareness", was organised by the Maram Women's Union (MWU) in collaboration with the District Legal Service Authority, Senapati, and 16 Assam Rifles, Maram.

RS Taipi, president of the Maram Women Union, delivered the keynote address, underlining the significance of the program and its relevance for students.

She stressed the importance of empowering young minds with knowledge, skills, and values to help them overcome challenges and realize their full potential.

Dr Joyce, Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy at JNIMS, highlighted crucial aspects of sex education, focusing on sexual health, relationships, and responsible behavior.

She advised students to prioritize their career opportunities while maintaining healthy lifestyles.

During her talk, Dr.Joyce shared valuable insights from her experiences in the hospital setting, highlighting real-world implications of her discussions.

By combining theoretical knowledge with practical examples, she provided students with a well-rounded understanding of the topic.

Koshia Mao, Public Prosecutor and Government Advocate of Manipur, delivered an informative session on the vital services provided by the District Legal Service Authority.

She highlighted the authority's pivotal role in ensuring access to justice for all, with a focus on underserved areas.

The services she discussed included free legal services, providing legal aid to those who cannot afford it, ensuring equal access to justice.

The day-long programme included interactive sessions, motivational talks, and discussions on health and legal issues.

Many Students from Mount Carmel Academy, Saklim Christian English School, and PP Christian English School attended the awareness program.
