Three Maring textbooks for Class IX and X released

Thoubal, May 11 2024: The first IAS from Maring community and present Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong Dr L Angshim Dangshawa released three Maring textbooks for Class IX and X at Khukarthil community hall under Machi Block of Tengnoupal district today.

The three textbooks will reportedly be included in Board of Secondary Education Manipur's (BOSEM) curriculum.

The book release ceremony was organised by the Maring Literature Society (MLS) with Dr L Angshim Dangshawa as the chief guest; Tousem Paul Nangsa (MCS), SDO Tamenglong as the functional president and K Yaima (Koshil), president, Maring Uparup Assembly (MUA) and Dr K Benedict, State Nodal Officer, AYUSH as the guests of honour.

Addressing the gathering, L Solomon Dangsa, secretary, MLS stated that the Society has been working tenaciously since 2015 and finally achieved their goal of releasing these Maring textbooks for Class IX and X in 2024.He also recalled the support they received from BOSEM Chairman, Secretary, other sub-committees as well as private citizens from different sections of society in achieving their objective.

He further recalled that in 2016 Maring textbooks from Class I to VIII were released under BOSEM with the monetary help provided by former Minister D Korungthang to the tune of Rs 3,70,000 .

Stating that MLS is trying to release other books, he extended his gratitude to all who helped and supported the Society.

The ceremony was also attended by former Ministers W Morung Makunga and D Korungthang; Professor S Imoba, Dean of Humanity, Manipur University; Professor I Gambhir Singh, additional director, IQAC and HOD, Department of English and Cultural Studies; L Wolring, president, Anal Literature Society; Member Dr HB Khelring; Ch Hoinu, president, Maring Napuiya Yinglam and D Sontrun, president, Maring Students' Union.

As a part of the event, Maring cultural dances and songs were also presented before the gathering.
