Award distribution ceremony held as part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2025

As part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 being observed at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS),Imphal from April 1 to 15, a special award distribution ceremony was organized to honour outstanding departments and personnel contributing to cleanliness and service excellence in the institute.
On the occasion, Elangbam Robert Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India distributed cash and certificates to the winners of the cleanest Departments, best Nursing Officers, best employees, best housekeeping staff of RIMS, CRED and MSS in presence of Professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal.
The Paediatrics Department, Radiodiagnosis Department and Casualty Department were awarded cleanest departments.
Longjam Ojit Singh, Hemam Anandi Devi, Bliss Sekho, Yambem Surjalata, Wangkheimayum Jeena Devi, Nongthombam Anjali Devi, Ahongsangbam Merina Devi and Toijam Martina Devi were awarded best Nursing Officers.
Laishram Lanngamba Singh, Mangilal Angom and RK Nomita Devi of RIMS Hospital were awarded best attendants.
H Babita Devi, T Debnath and S Babita Devi of MSS were awarded best security/sanitary staff.
Maibam Anil Singh, Khwairakpam Premika Devi and Longjam Tanoubi Devi of CRED were awarded best housekeeping staff.
Haobijam Joykumar Singh, Tongbram Vidyananda Singh, Moirangthem Shantikumar Singh, Moirangthem Priyobrata, Hijam Manekshaw and Laishram Chandramani Khumancha, System Administrator of the Administrative Block were awarded best staff.
The top three winners of the debate competition and voice of students held on April 7 on the occasion of the World Health Day 2025 were also awarded with cash and certificates.
The top three winners of the debate competition are Liklaileima Aheibam, Ratankumar Memorial, Yohenbi Nongthongbam, Ratankumar Memorial and Master Bonney Thokchom, Ratankumar Memorial.
Meanwhile, the top three winners of the Voice of Students competition are Kalpana Khangembam, Ratankumar Memorial, Kiritika Nongmeikapam; KV No 1 Lamphelpat and Konsam Aloke, Ratankumar Memorial.
In his address, Elangbam Robert Singh praised RIMS for its sustained cleanliness efforts and stressed the need for community participation and institutional accountability to achieve the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
He emphasized that a clean environment is everyohe's responsibility and a true reflection of a responsible society.
Additionally, Professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, Imphal addressed the Swachhata Pakhwada award ceremony, applauding the institute's cleanliness efforts under the Ministry's guidance.
He highlighted infrastructure upgrades, awareness drives, and hygiene assessments, emphasizing the theme "Swachhata is Everyone's Business." He urged collective responsibility and daily commitment to cleanliness, vital for healing, learning, and research, to make RIMS a model of hygiene.
Professor N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal; Professor Y Govindaraj Singh, Nodal Officer SAP/Kaya Kalp, RIMS also graced the event.
