Mass enrolment prog of BJP held

Imphal, March 10 2015: Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh today organized a one day political awareness and mass BJP membership enrolment programme at Laphok village under 19-Dallong District Council Constituency of Tamenglong district.

The mass enrolment programme was presided by ex-minister Dr Khashim Ruivah while Prof Gangmumei Kamei was the chief guest.

Ex-minister Samuel Jendai, ADC member M Daniel along with officials of BJP Manipur Pradesh M Asnikumar, O Malesh, Vikramjit and Anwar Hussain were the guests of honour.

Professor Gangmumei Kamei appealed to the people to join the BJP and make contribution to strengthen the party.

He further said that BJP sticks to the sole aim of bringing development and good governance in the State.

He also dismissed the perception that the BJP is anti-Christian or anti-minority.

General secretary (Administration) BJP Manipur Pradesh M Asnikumar stated that the accusation made by other political parties that BJP is a religion based political party is baseless.

"BJP's religion is the Holy Constitution of India", he added.

Asnikumar further stated, "if we are to bring a change in the society we should first change our idea and decide who to elect as our leaders" .

He urged the villagers to support the BJP right from the ADC election to the general election and help the party win majority of the seats in the State Assembly.

By March 31 BJP will be a political party with over three lakh members.

The mass enrolment programme was being aimed to bring together like-minded people who are tired of being cheated over and over again, Asnikumar added.

Taking a dig at the Congress party and the Dy CM, he said, "the Deputy Chief Minister has cheated his own people right from the beginning and till today his (Congress) party has neglected the hill people of Manipur" .

Ex-minister Samuel Jendai alleged that almost all the hill districts of Manipur, particularly Tamenglong district have been left out from all development programmes by the ruling Congress party.

The district has been branded as the most backward district of the State and the situation could be changed if BJP is given a chance to serve the people, he said.

He also clarified that BJP is not a communal or religion based political party.

Functional president Dr Khashim Ruivah appealed to the people not to give away their precious votes in exchange of some money.
