Creativity takes centre stage at KV Lamphelpat's Kala Darpan exhibition

Imphal, August 08 2025: Creativity and cultural pride were on full display at Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Lamphelpat in Imphal West District, as the school hosted its vibrant "Kala Darpan" Art and Craft Exhibition today, showcasing the diverse talents of the students through an array of artistic and craft works.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Taorem Pritam Singh, Deputy Commissioner, KVS Regional Office, Tinsukia in the presence of Naorem Praveen Singh, Secretary (MA/OBC & SC/YAS) & Director, MANIREDA; T Geetchandra Sharma, Additional Director, Education (Planning), Manipur; and Vishwanath Namaram, Principal, KV No 1, Lamphelpat.

Speaking on the occasion, Taorem Pritam described Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan as a 'Mini Bharat', representing a mosaic of languages and cultures and embodying the spirit of unity in diversity.

He noted that the Kendriya Vidyalaya system mirrors the same cultural richness seen from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Highlighting the importance of holistic development encompassing physical, mental, and spiritual, he asserted that education should be multi-disciplinary, combining art, academics, and physical education, while ensuring inclusivity and equity.

He lauded the teachers for their dedication and exemplary role as facilitators and mentors, expressing confidence that the students of the school would excel across the country.

He also called upon parents and the community to actively participate in the education system, working together to bring a paradigm shift in the school's growth and learning environment.

Taorem Pritam further praised the creativity of the students, underlining the role of art education in nurturing imagination, cultural appreciation, and lifelong learning.

The art exhibition featured a vibrant collection of artwork, handicrafts and creative writing from students of Classes 1 to 12 .

Cultural songs and dances were also showcased on the occasion, adding a lively touch to the celebration.
