Senapati, April 06 2025:
The Poumai Naga Students Union (PNTM) has asked the village leaders and community members to restrict killing of wild birds/animals to protect the ecosystem.
The directive stated that as the sacred season of bird hack approaches, the office of the student body reaches out to all with a heartfelt plea to stand together as guardians of the precious wildlife.
"The forests, birds, and animals are not just part of the ecosystem but they are a living legacy passed down through generations, woven into the culture and identity.
While the present age has crossed the Stone Age, the student body says that time has come for all to evolve, to shift from hunting to nurturing, from killing to protecting.
The indiscriminate killing of birds and wildlife not only disrupts nature's delicate balance but also robs the present children of the beauty and bounty the past generations once enjoyed," PNTM said.
Giving a solemn reminder, the student body warns that hunting or killing birds and wildlife is strictly prohibited within Poumai jurisdiction.
Urging all to be mindful of the consequences, the PNTM said that those violating the ban will not receive support from the PNTM .
