RIMS organises mental health awareness programme

A mental health awareness programme under Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan and Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 was organized today at UG Ladies Hostel No 3, RIMS, Imphal, and Herbert School, Changangei, Manipur.
According, to a press release, the initiative aimed to sensitize young students on the importance of mental well-being, promote healthy lifestyles, and encourage community participation in overall health awareness.
The programme was attended by Professor N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
It featured expert sessions conducted by faculty from the Department of Clinical Psychology, RIMS, Imphal.
Pampak Khumukcha, Assistant Professor, delivered a lecture highlighting the significance of mental health in daily life, the early identification of psychological concerns, and the importance of seeking timely help.
W Julia, Assistant Professor, presented a short film on "Mental Health," which was followed by an interactive session with students, during which participants raised queries, shared experiences, and discussed common challenges faced by young people in maintaining mental well-being.
As part of the continuing activities under the campaign, several health and wellness initiatives were also organized, including a blood donation camp in collaboration with 86 Bn CRPF, Lamphel, and IRCS, Imphal West at Lamphelpat; a digital ABHA ID registration drive to promote digital health records and accessibility under the Ayushman Bharat scheme; a Yoga session to highlight the role of yoga in stress management, physical fitness, and overall mental wellness; and NCD screening for hypertension, diabetes, and cancer, aimed at early detection and preventive care.
