Bodies condemn Kunjabihari's killing

Different bodies have condemned the killing of Chairman of Board of Secondary Education Manipur, Dr Naorem Kunjabihari Singh.
Taking serious note of the incident, All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) said that killing of a dedicated teacher like Kunjabihari would bring a great loss to the student community of the State.
AMSU expressed wonder how the Chairman was shot dead inside his office chamber located at high security zone.
The students' body also sought clarification from the concerned organisation regarding the killing.
Strongly condemning the incident, Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) in a press release said that the killing would give a big blow to the students' community.
As the office of BSEM is located at high security zone, KSA said, the killing might have carried out under a well planned conspiracy.
KSA also sought early clarification from the concerned regarding the killing.
All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association has also decried the killing of Dr Kunjabihari.
The association urged the Government to appoint top posts in Board of Secondary Education Manipur and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur in fair manner.
The Government must be responsible for giving an impression that these two educational bodies have become a place for minting easy money, the association alleged.
Strongly condemning the killing, Sadar Hills Private Schools' Association, Kangpokpi remembered Dr Kunjabihari as a great educationist and an abled leader.
Maintaining that his killing is a great loss to Manipur, the association urged the concerned to shun such senseless killings in future.
Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) and Manipur College Teachers' Association have also condemned the killing.
Meanwhile, Human Resource Development Centre, Mayang Imphal and All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association have condoled the demise of BSEM Chairman.
Our Churachadpur Correspondent adds: Zomi Students' Federation, the apex student body of the kindred Zomi tribe today, in a statement, condemned the killing of Dr N Kunjabihari and termed the entire circumstances as a sign of degradation of education in Manipur.
As the federation shares its sorrow to the bereaved families in their irreparable lost, the murder of Dr Singh is a great loss for the students' community of Manipur, it said.
ZSF also reiterated the need for making 'education a free zone' for the cause of the future generation and made an appeal to all social elements not to be towed in working against their beliefs and principles.
