'Manipur's artworks needs to be popularised widely'

It is necessary to spread the artworks of the state to the world through the internet.
People of the state should strive for a collective effort to uphold the various artworks, said Lalit Kala Akademi Awardee Th Tombi today in the inaugural function of the 8th Manipur State Art Exposition 2010 .
Speaking as chief guest in the function organised by the State Kala Akademi, Manipur at the State Art Gallery, Konung Mamang, Tombi said that Manipur has great potential in the field of art.
He stressed the need of participating in national art expositions.
It is very important to upload various artworks like paintings and sculptures of the state in the internet to spread them worldwide.
He said that artists of Manipur should study the artworks of world famous artists.
Director, Arts & Culture, Dr K Sobita presided over the inaugural function.
Nine paintings, 10 sculptures, four graphics and one drawing are being displayed in the art exposition.
