ISA, Sanchaali celebrate foundation days

Imphal, September 28 2025: International Sanamahi Association (ISA) celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day at the hall of State Central Library in Keishampat today.

The Foundation Day celebration was accompanied by a seminar on "Sanamahi Laininggee Maru Oiba Lainingthou-Lairembising".

The event was graced by dignitaries, including Prof Sagolshem Lanchenba Meetei, Principal, DM College of Arts, DM University; Mutua Bahadur, Director, Mutua Museum; Sapam Bheigya, president, ISA; and,renowned shumang leela artist Iboyaima Khuman.

During the event, Mutua Bahadur delivered a lecture on the topic "Bangladesh amasung Myanmar da Leiriba Meeteigi Ariba Khubamsing amasung Sanamhi Laininggee Phibam" and Iboyaima Khuman spoke on "Sanamhi Lainingbu Meeyamna Pamnahannaba Pambeising".

The seminar featured two Sessions moderated by Prof Toijam Tampha, Department of Manipuri, Manipur University and Dr Khundongbam Gokulchandra, retired, HoD, Department of Philosophy, DM University.

In the first session, Dr Thounaojam Ruhichand, Assistant Professor, Manipur University of Culture gave a talk on "Meiteigee Ariba Lainingda Sanamhi Laining" while Dr L Ranjita, Assistant Professor, Regional College elaborated on "Sanamahi Laininggee Maruoiba Lairembising" and M Basanti Singha, Assistant Professor, Regional College spoke on "Meitei amasung Kabuigee Leishemlon amasung Laininggee Mannaba Mashak".

In the second session, Dr Waikhom Romesh, Associate Professor, GP Women's College gave a talk on "Sanamahi Lainingga Hindu Lainingga Mannaba amasung Khennabasing" while Dr K Miniketan Meitei, Assistant Professor, MB College elaborated on "Sanamahi Laininggee Maruroiba Lainingthousing" and research scholar Mutum ' Bikramjit spoke on "Lainingthou Sanamahi Khurambada Changba Potlamsing" .

SANCHAALI

The 23rd Foundation Day of Sanchaali, a centre for performing arts, was celebrated today at its complex in Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai.

The celebration was attended by Prof S Sanatombi Singha, former Vice Chancellor, Manipur University; Dr Elam Indira Devi, Director, Meitei Traditional Dance Teaching School & Performing Centre; Prof H Nonikumar Singha, former HoD, Department of Manipuri, Assam University; and Dr M Thoiba Singh, president, Sanchaali as presidium members.

The celebration began with the offering of floral tributes to the deceased 'Gurus' of Sanchaali.

The event was marked by the felicitation of achievers namely Nameirakpam Tiken Singh, Akham Luxmi, Chingtham Ranjeet Khuman and Dr Y Sadananda Singh.
