Two women detained for alleged involvement in flesh trade, later, one found shot in the leg

Koireng-led UNLF on Saturday paraded two women for allegedly trading flesh for money.
While one of the women is about 40, the other is younger.
They were allegedly involved in trading flesh for money.
The older woman from Imphal West lures other women into the trade.
She has been in the business for the last 5-6 years, claimed the outfit's spokesperson Pibarel Angomcha.
Pibarel said the trade they are involved in is against the society and it is a shameful sin which maligns the image of the Manipuri society and the community.
He said the younger woman hails from Tamenglong and she will be handed over to civil society organisations concerned after giving counselling.
The older woman, on the other hand, clarified that "there are many girls from different communities indulging in the trade, and many are working in Guwahati, Delhi and other places.
She said the women use hotels in North AOC and Imphal area to conduct their business.
She also alleged the involvement of an ex-MLA in the business.
Meanwhile, at around 8.10 pm, sources said a woman suspected to be the woman from Imphal West was found with a bullet injury on her left leg near a bridge at Laitonjam Awang Leikai Leinambi Turel Phadibi Lamshang.
She was first admitted to Nambol CHC, and later, Nambol police took her to RIMS Hospital for treatment.
