Manipur observes 150 years of 'Vande Mataram'

The 150th anniversary of the National Song "Vande Mataram" was commemorated across Manipur today, reaffirming the State's commitment to unity and progress.
KAKCHING
The District Administration Kakching led by Deputy Commissioner Rohit Anand joined the rest of the nation in a year-long commemoration of 150 years of the National Song "Vande Mataram" in Kakching district today.
The DC was joined by ADM, SDO, AC to DC, officials & staff of Deputy Commissioner's Office along with officials of NIC, IT, District Information Office among others at the Conference Hall in DC Office Complex.
The National song "Vande Mataram" was sung with full fervor, followed by a live screening of the inaugural function from New Delhi and address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the nation.
Meanwhile, similar events of mass singing of Vande Mataram and live screening of the PM's speech were also held across offices and educational institutions in Kakching.
THOUBAL
In Thoubal district, Deputy Commissioner Hannah Kahmei, led the observance at the Deputy Commissioner's Office, accompanied by ADM Aribam Amarjit Shanna; SDO Thoubal Arvind Hanglem; and District Level Officers from various departments.
Participants sang "Vande Mataram" and watched the live webcast of the nationallevel inauguration held in New Delhi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Across the district, school students, teachers, and government staff also took part in the singing of the National song, reflecting a shared spirit of patriotism and cultural pride.
CHURACHANDPUR
The nationwide commemoration of the 150th years of India's National Song "Vande Mataram", was also held today at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner's Office, Mini Secretariat, Churachandpur with the attendees watching a live webcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A mass synchronized singing of the full version of "Vande Maataram", which was joined by the gathering, created a moment of patriotic fervor, marking the beginning of a year-long nationwide tribute from November 7, 2025.Deputy Commissioner, Dharun Kumar S; SP, Gaurav Dogra, IPS; ADCs, SDOs and District Level Officers (DLOs) attended the program.
PHERZAWL
The District Administration, Pherzawl, commemorated the 150th anniversary of India's National Song, Vande Mataram, with a ceremony at the DC Office Conference Hall today.
Deputy Commissioner Mannuamching led officials and staff in a collective rendition of Vande Mataram, an iconic song that played a pivotal role in India's independence movement and remains a powerfill symbol of national pride.
The event coincided with the national-level observance in New Delhi, where the Prime Minister addressed the nation.
The live broadcast was streamed during the programme enabling participants to join in and be part of the national celebration.
SENAPATI
Celebrating the spirit of patriotism and the historical significance of the song "Vande Mataram" in India's freedom movement, the District Administration, Senapati, organized a mass singing of "Vande Mataram" on Thursday at the DRDA Conference Hall, Senapati.
Students from various schools under the Zonal Education Office (ZEO), along with the Chief Executive Officer of ADC Senapati, actively participated in the event.
The participants sang in unison, expressing their love for the nation and reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of freedom and unity.
In addition to the districtlevel event, the mass singing was also held simultaneously across all Sub-Divisional Offices in Senapati District, ensuring widespread participation of students, officials.
ASSAM RIFLES
The 150th anniversary of India's National Song "Vande Mataram" was commemorated with heartfelt reverence and vibrant community participation across Manipur as Assam Rifles organised a series of events that brought together over 2000 troops and approximately 1,500 civilians, including students, youth and villagers.
The celebrations held under the aegis of Assam Rifles across various districts of Manipur echoed the timeless message of unity, devotion and national pride embedded in Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's immortal composition.
The commemorative activities unfolded across multiple districts on November 7, 2025 beginning with a soulful mass singing at dawn by 300 troops at Mantripukhri Garrison, where the stirring chorus of "Vande Mataram" reverberated across the region.
At Keithelmanbi Garrison in Imphal West, 150 personnel joined in a solemn rendition, reaffirming their commitment to the nation's unity and progress.
The commemorative events were also held at Tengnoupal, Chandel, Kakching, Thoubal, Churachandpur and Ukhrul, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and villagers.
Across all venues, Assam Rifles personnel engaged with the community, fostering camaraderie and reinforcing the enduring relevance of "Vande Mataram" as a symbol of India's cultural heritage and patriotic spirit.
CRPF
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today observed the 150th anniversary of the National Song "Vande Mataram", marking the commemoration both at the Unit Headquarters and at its different company locations at Awangkhul, Irang, Khongsang, Rangpang, Merrylane, and Tamenglong.
The programme commenced with an address by Ravinder Sharma, Commandant of 143 Bn CRPF, who highlighted the significance of "Vande Mataram", penned by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in the late 19th century.
He stated that the song served as a rousing call for freedom during the Indian independence movement.
