Reaffirming the resolutions adopted during its general assembly on February 27 at District Councils Guest House at Poumai colony, Chingmeirong, All Tribal Contractors' Association, Manipur has once again made it clear to all the DDOs (Executive Engineers) concerned to the forthcoming cheques in the respective divisions and floating of the tenders for works should be done at the respective district divisions as per the directive of the Chief Secretary, failing which the Association would take up stern actions.
In a statement, Association secretary PA Thekho has also made it clear that no contractor should lend work agency to others/non-contracts without he knowledge and permission of the respective district Association president and secretary.
This is to avoid works be ing allotted to inexperienced and incompetent non-resident non-contractors who cannot execute quality works, thus hampering greatly in the developmental activities of the districts concerned.
Defying this resolution would compel the Association to impose strong punitive action as deemed fit, Thekho said, adding that the respective constitute units of the Association should also strictly abide by the resolution of the general assembly.
IN case of the Government's failure to pay all the pending liabilities during current financial year, the Association would have no option but to take recourse to State wide bandhs and blockades and sue the Government in the court of law, the Association secretary stated firmly.
