MPSC, HU capture titles in Bishnupur Sub-Jr & Men's 6-a-side hockey tourney

Imphal, December 17 2023: MPSC and Hockey Union won titles in the 3rd State Level Sub-Junior Boys' & Men's Open 6-a-side Hockey Tournament 2023 at SLO Ground, Bishnupur on Sunday.

MPSC won the men's open tournament after beating Bishnupur Hockey 3-2 in a penalty shootout after the two teams tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time.

On the other hand, Hockey Union beat TWC 4-2 to clinch the sub-junior boys' event title.

W Indrew scored twice while Y Leonard and Y Torres contributed a goal each in Hockey Union's title triumph.

K Dinaraj both goals of TWC.

The closing ceremony was attended by Gyanendra Ningombam, former president Hockey India, T Phulen Meitei, director YAS, Thoudam Nabakishore Singh, president Bishnupur Hockey, Thoudam Nabakishore Singh, vice president Bishnupur Hockey, and Dr Basudev Singh, president Manipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and advisor Manipur Hockey, as dignitaries.
