Understanding reached, Ruisoting's body claimed

Body of the 55-year-old woman from Aimol Satu village, who was killed in Assam Rifles firing on May 31, has been claimed by her family and members of the JAC, constituted against the incident, from JNIMS morgue today.
Post mortem examination of the deceased, identified as Ruisoting alias Mary was conducted in the presence of a Duty Magistrate with full video coverage.
The body was claimed after an understanding was brought between Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and JAC members in a meeting held this morning.
Tengnoupal AC MLA DK Korungthang and Assam Rifles officers were also present at the meeting.
The points agreed by the Government include payment of compensation to the victim's family, providing a suitable Government job to one of the members of the victim's family, taking action against the guilty AR officer and personnel and penalising the involved personnel as per the customary law of Aimol Satu village.
The body was lying at JNIMS morgue from June 1 morning.
After Ruisoting succumbed to a bullet injury at Shija hospital on May 31, the villagers blocked NH-102 after forming a JAC on June 1 .
Although, no unwanted incident was reported, the blockade disturbed normal traffic movement along the highway.
The villagers also tried to storm 20 Sector Assam Rifles headquarters, located at Pallel demanding action against the involved AR personnel.
They held placards, banners and the pictures of Ruisoting and Maj Aditya Kapoor of E-Coy of 20 AR during their protest.
As the police prevented them from entering the AR garrison, the villagers carried out demonstration near 20 AR headquarters garrison.
