Sit-in staged against government action

Thoubal, August 08 2023: A sit-in protest was staged by the local people at Nongpok Ningthou Pangthoibi Shanglen community hall, Nongpok Ingourok on Monday expressing their disapproval over state and central governments' actions and demanding not to snatch guns from state forces and removal of Assam Rifles from Manipur.

Speaking to media persons, one of the meira paibi leaders M Anita stated that government should revoke SoO agreement with Kuki militants, move out AR from state, deport illegal Kuki foreigners, implement NRC, not accept any demand for separate administration, and state police personnel should not be punished and not to take away arms of village volunteers defending foothill villages.
