Cong team reaches out to IDPs

CCpur, December 09 2023: On the occasion of Congress party chairperson Sonia Gandhi's 77th birthday, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee working president Victor Keishing led party office bearers in distributing several essential items to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) staying at various relief centres in Churachandpur on Saturday.

The relief centres where the materials were provided by the Congress party included Dorcas Veng community hall, Rostad Memorial High School and St Paul's Institute.

The IDPs at the relief centres praised the party and lauded it for its concern for them.

Talking to this correspondent, Victor Keishing informed that they came to Churachandpur on Saturday at Sonia Gandhi's request, adding that it was her wish that no celebrations be made, but that they share the grief of those in the relief centres.

He further said that Sonia Gandhi told him to ask everyone to move towards peace because peace is unification, and that only then can our land shine like it used to.

During the aid distribution, the MPCC (I) was assisted by the District Congress Committee (DCC), Churachandpur.
