Village volunteers set deadline for destruction of Kuki bunkers

Setting August 12 as the deadline for destruction of bunkers constructed by Kuki militants in Sanasabi and security check posts set up in Yaingangpokpi villages along with removal of Kuki militants staving in camps constructed in the area, Lamlai Kendra Village Volunteers Force has threatened to launch intense form of agitations if the demand is not made within the stipulated time.
Speaking at a public meeting held in Nongada Khunjao, Lamlai Kendra Village Volunteers/ Force advisor N Devendro said that the security check posts set up in between Sabungkhok and Yaingangpokpi have been creating problems to commuters including students even during relaxation of curfew hours.
Therefore, the check posts should be removed at the earliest.
He further informed that the bunkers constructed by Kuki militants on the hills of Sanasabi village have now turned into camps where large numbers of Kuki militants are staying.
These militants are in a position to attack the Meitei villagers any time according to their conveniences.
Therefore, the authority concerned is urged to remove the camps at the earliest for the safety of Meitei villagers.
The Lamlai Kendra Village Volunteers Force advisor also threatened to forcibly drive out the militants by the village forces if the authority concerned failed to remove the Kuki militants from the said camps by August 12.The meeting was attended by leaders and village volunteers of Lamlai Kendra.
