She appealed to the authorities concerned to withdraw the plan of deployment of Central security forces in Sagang which has not been affected by the communal violence.
'The security forces should be stationed at high risk areas which are dominated by the Kukis if the Government is intended in curbing the violence', she maintained.
She urged all concerned to deploy the Central security forces at sensitive areas and vulnerable areas of Napat, Tanjeng, Chadonpokpi, Pombikhok, Torbung Bangla and so on since these areas are under the constant threat of being attacked by narco-terrorists.
Further she appealed to the Government to expedite resettlement measures of the displaced people at their respective native homes.
The committee secretary Amom Himalaya Devi, executive member Ksh Ibempishak and other members also attended the press meet.
Meanwhile, in connection with the proposed strategy of deployment of Central security forces in Sagang, a public discussion was held today at Sagang Keithel attended by a large number of Meira Paibis of Wangoo, Kumbi, Sagang, Laingoubi, Tangjeng, Pombikhok, Chandonpokpi, Mangjing, Wangoo Sabal, Naodakhong, Terakhong and Kom Meira Paibi of Sagang.
Speaking at the occasion, Meira Paibi leader of Kom community, Ingellei Kom said that there is no need for additional Central security forces in Sagang since the place is relatively peaceful with different communities coexisting peacefully.
She further maintained that the Kom community has suffered tremendously despite being a neutral entity ever since the outbreak of the tragic communal crisis since May and the Government has failed to acknowledge the suffering of this community which is unfortunate.
She also sought the attention of the Government to help in maintaining the peaceful coexistence among the different communities in Sagang which has been in place since the past many decades.
'We do not need any Central security forces in our area', she added.
Social activist Jaya Khangembam while addressing the gathering, appealed to the Government to station adequate security forces in high risk areas of violence instead of deploying them in peaceful areas like Sagang.
She urged the Government not to disrupt the harmonious atmosphere in Sagang by deploying security forces.
