1st Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament : TRAU, YWC (P) secure emphatic wins

TRAU, Kwakeithel and YWC, Patsoi today enjoyed similar wins in their league matches of the ongoing Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Langthabal Sporting Club, Langthabal.
The tournament is organised under the aegis of Manipur Cricket Association and a total of 21 teams divided into 4 groups are featuring in it.
The first match of the day witnessed Sahadat blast a half century for TRAU and helped beat PTRC, Patsoi by 41 runs.
The Kwakeithel side won the toss and elected to bat first.
Sahadat hit 52 runs in 50 balls while Saroj and Abuash Ali scored 29 (30 balls) and 25 (11 balls) to pile tip 151 runs for 6 in 20 overs.
The bowlers of PTRC tried hard to break the momentum of the batting side but they could not bring much of an impact today.
Deepu claimed three wickets in this inning for the Patsoi side while Bishorjit and RK Rex picked 2 and 1 wickets each.
In reply, PTRC slumped to just 110 runs for 8 in 20 overs giving TRAU a 41 run victory.
Sourav of PTRC looked promising in the beginning but went out scoring 34 runs off 35 balls.
Bidash and Johny scored 13 runs each to complement the chase.
Saroj who scored 29 runs in the first inning shone with a three wicket haul in this second innings and eventually emerged man of the match.
In the second match, YWC, Patsoi posted a total of 123 runs to romp to a 51 runs victory over YAC, Yaiskul.
YWC Patsoi set up a target of 124 runs which the YAC, Yaiskul failed to reach though they had 5 wickets in their hand.
Amarjit (40 runs) and Ujjal (23 runs) played a key role in posting a total of 123 runs for 6 in 20 overs for the Patsoi side.
Jemson, Rakesh and Joychandra of YAC picked 1 wicket each in this inning.
YAC started the second innings horribly as their batsmen were left in lurch by the bowlers of the Patsoi side.
The Patsoi side maintained a perfect economy and restricted YAC at 72 runs for 5 in 20 overs to enjoy a comfortable 51 runs victory.
Amarjit of YWC who hit 40 runs in 49 balls was named man of the match.
