Imphal, January 11:
Members of Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Assn observed two minutes silence at its Minuthong head office as a mark of respect to Sir Edmund Hillary who passed away in the early hours today.
During the special condolence meeting convened today members present recalled of Sir Edmund Hillary along with Tenzing Norgay successfully scaling the Mt Everest.
MMTA members also offered floral tribute at its Lamdan institute premises in remembrance of the legendary mountaineer, added a release.
