To promote work culture among the people of Manipur and ensure full development in agriculture, which an important sector of the State's economy, All Manipur Integrated Farmers' Organisation is all set to launch a campaign in every localities and villages of the State.
Announcing his during a press conference at its Canchipur office today, president of All Manipur Integrated Farmers' Organisation L Inao Singh obser ved that promotion of a work culture among the people and development of agriculture though application of the latest technologies would ensure proper utilisation of the man power and available resources apart from augmenting the income of the State.
He informed that during the course of the campaign to be launched along with the support of the various experts in the related field, people would be enlightened on various important issues related reclamation and efficient utilisation of the available cultivable land along with adoption of the latest technology.
Expressing serious concern over leaving the paddy field idle after harvesting of the crops till the next cultivation season, he noted that ensuring irrigational facilities would help in keep the field evergreen and productive all the year round.
In such a situation, farmers can successfully take up double cropping to increase the produce of the State and bring about self sufficiency and reliant economy instead of depending on other neighbouring States, Inao observed.
He also sought the co-operation of the people in ensuring the success of the campaign.
Highlighting on some of the activities that the Organisation has been taking up, Inao informed that for the first phase cereals and potatoes have been cultivated successfully in two Loukons at Bashikhong and Kiyamgei.
