2nd East Zone Sepak Takraw Championship Regue Event

THE 2ND East Zone Sepak Takraw Championship Regue event which kicked off on Monday last concluded today at Indoor Stadium of Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
Both Manipur teams of boys and girls clinched champion in the championship after defeating their respective opponents in today's final matches.
Today witnessed seven league matches and two final matches.
All the matches caught spectator's eyes.
In today's first league match played between Manipur and Assam, Manipur beat Assam 2-0.The scores were 21-12, 21-7 .
The second match was played between Mizoram and Nagaland.
Mizoram won the match after defeating Nagaland 2-1.The scores were 21-15, 12-21, 15-17 .
Assam and Tripura fought in the third match which was won by Assam 2-0.Their scores were 21-1, 21-6.The fourth match was also an interesting match between Mizoram and Orissa, Mizoram beat Orissa 2-0 with score position 21-4 and 21-6 .
The fifth match witnessed Nagaland tegam giving a nice blow to Tripura team with a win of 2-0.The scores were 21-4 and 21-6 .
In the sixth match, Orrissa and Tripura fought for their win.
But Tripura team could not stand long enough to defend themselves against the onslaught of Orissa team.
In despite of their hard effort, Tripura team lost the match in the hand of Orissa 2-0.The scores were 21-13, 211-3 .
Today's last league match was a rather interesting match featuring Manipur and Mizoram.
Mizoram team tried it hard to win Manipur but could not make it as they could not match the palyers of Manipur.
Manipur won the match after defeating Mizoram 2-0.The scores were 21-11, 21-14 .
With the conclusion of league matches, the final match of girls category began.
The final match was played between Assam and Manipur.
Manipur beat Assam 2-0.The scores were 21-6, 21-8 .
Thoinu Chanu, Romina Singha, Bobita SIngha played the match representing Assam.
Ibeton and Padmini were the reserve players.
.SBirachandra was the coach of Assam team while Kiran Ch.
Gogoi was the team manager.
In the side of Manipur, O Jeni played the match as Tekong while M.Aruna and M.Santi played as striker and Supplier respectively.
Reserve players were A.Maipak and W.Milana.
.LSomorendro was the team coach while I.Lata participated the match as team manager.
The final match of boys category was also won by Manipur team.
It was played between Mizoram and Manipur.
Manipur beat Mizoram team 2-0.The scores were 21-10, 21-18 .
.LBhumeshor the team captain of Manipur played as supplier while H.Kirankumar and S.Romesh played as Striker and Tekong.

Rahul and M.Nanao participated as reserve players.
.PRanjit was the team coach of Manipur while Th.Sitaljit participated as team manager.
The Mizoram team was represented by S.Lalrosunga, Chunlawmzwala and F.Lalhimingmawia.
Zalianthanga and L.Pekwau-thanga participated as reserve players.
Their team coach and manager were Makir Sharma and Lalrin-wana Rayte respectively.
In the meantime the 19th Senior National Sepak Takraw Championship 2008 will kicked off from tomorrow with Manipur as host.
The opening ceremony will begin from 10 am tomorrow at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium, Imphal.
His Excellency, state Governor Gurbachan Jagat Singh will grace the ceremony as chief guest and will inaugurate the championship.
Youth Affairs andSports and Irrrigation and Flood Control Department minister, N.Biren will preside over the ceremony.
The championship will last till November 9.A total of 18 teams will participate in the championship in three different events.
Players of Manipur, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Jarkhand, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra nd Haryana will compete in Team, Regue, Double Regue events.
