Iboyaima's allround performance guides Model Club to 255 run victory against OSCAR

Imphal, December 19 2023: Iboyaima produced an all round performance to hand Model Club-Chingamakha a huge 255 run victory over OSCAR-Uripok in a Group A match of the ongoing 20th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.

Riding on half centuries from Iboyaima 57-ball 73 and Damen 37-ball 58, Model Club who opted to bat first piled up 306 runs for 6 wickets in allotted 30 overs and bowled out OSCAR for 51 runs with Iboyaima (3/1 in 2 overs) and Bobin (3/0 in 1.2 overs) enjoying three wicket hauls.

Earlier in the Model Club innings, Suresh 34, Chinglensana 33, Bosco 23 not out, Tomba 24 not out and Cherish 15 also contributed well to take the tally to 306 runs.

Gouro 2/53, Shantajit 2/45 and Mobi 2/63 all picked two wickets each but failed to contain the Model Club strike rate today.

In reply, OSCAR got off to a sloppy start and collapsed within 14.2 overs as Iboyaima, Bobin, Saratchandra (2/18) and Cherish (1/5) stunned the OSCAR batters with their impeccable bowling performances.

Guna 20 and Gouro 10 were the only two batters who managed double digit scores in this innings.

Eventually, Iboyaima was declared man of the match.

LCCC-Lilong Chajing will play YCC-Wangkhei in a Group B match tomorrow at the same venue.
