First priest from Saranamai ordained

In a historic moment for the Siimai (Saranamai) Catholic Church, the dreams of its members were fulfilled on Tuesday, with the Priestly Ordination of Dn Soude Peter, son of Shezii Louniio.
The ordination ceremony took place at All Saints' Catholic Church, Saranamai and was presided over by most reverend Dominic Lumon, DD, Archbishop Emeritus of Imphal.
The Vicar General, the Chancellor, and the Diocesan Fraternity of Imphal Archdiocese, along with the Provincial Superior of CMC, were also present at the ceremony attended by over 50 priests, 40 religious sisters, 40 catechists, presidents and -secretaries of SDCU, PNCM, PNCNM, PNCYO, and representatives of Lemai Clans from various Poumai villages, including Maiba Lemai, Phuba Lemai, Liyai Lemai, Phaibung Lemai.
Dignitaries from different walks of life also attended, making it a congregation of around 2000 members from various Parishes.
The ceremony commenced at 10 am and concluded at 12:10 pm.
Following the ordination, a presentation ceremony took place, where approximately 200 individuals were acknowledged and presented tokens of gratitude and appreciation from the newly ordained priest reverend Father Soude Peter, and his family members.
To express gratitude and celebrate this historic occasion, he hosted a community feast for the people of all three Siimai villages and the delegates from neighbouring parishes.
The first priestly ordination at Siimai village was not only a grand and graceful event but also a memorable moment that transcended religious boundaries.
People of all faiths came together to share the joy of this historic occasion, marking a significant chapter in the spiritual life of Siimai (Saranamai) Catholic Church.
