Canada's quartet made up Akash Maharaj, Jeetender Singh, S Bimol and Jaswinder Singh tallied 109 points to clinch the tent pegging lance team gold on the penultimate day of the International Tent Pegging Championship 2008 at Imphal Pologround today.
India A secured the runners-up position in the even after HC Jaswinder Singh, SI jaswinder Singh, suresh Kumar and Sashidharan K culled 108 points while Vivek Rehni, Youngbir Singh, Jagdish Singh and Om Prakash combined to win the third position on 101 points for India B team.
In the tent pegging lance & sword paired event, the top honour was bagged by Vivek Rehni and Jagdish of India B with a tally of 20 points, while the silver medal went to India A duo of HC Jaswinder Singh and SI Jaswinder Singh on 18 points.
Akash Maharaj and Jeekender Singh representing Canada settled for the bronze medal on 17 points.
