The Festival of Manipuri Cinema being organised by Film Forum Manipur at Shankar Talkies, Lamphel concluded today along with announcing the nominees of 27 different awards of the festival.
For each of the award, the names of three nominees have been selected by 19 juries appointed for the purpose.
The names of the nominees were announced during a press conference at venue of the film festival today.
The different categories of award are Best Feature Film, Best Feature Film in other Language, Best Non-Feature film, Best Director, Best Actor (Male), Best Actor (Female), Best Male Actor in Supporting Role, Best Female Actor in Supporting Role, Best Child Artiste, Best Cinematography, Best Lighting Design, Best Editing, Best Music Director, Best Background Score, Best Make-Up Artiste, Best Choreographer, Best Art Director, Best Visual Effect, Best Story, Best Screen-play, Best Costume, Best Sound Design, Best Jury and Best Film Critic.
In all 24 digital and feature films and 10 nonfeature films were screened both at Shankar Talkies and Mini Shankar during the course of the week-long festival.
The three films nominated for the Best Feature Film award are Lakhipurgi Lakhipiyari of Somen Moirangcha, Meera Memcha of Suresh Hidang and Telanga Mamei of Shanti Thokchom.
The nominees of the Best Director Award are L Surjakanta Sharma for Lakhipurgi Lakhipiyari, L Mohindro for Meera Memcha and Oken Amakcham for Telanga Mamei.
The nominees of the Best Non-Feature Films are Bobby Wahengbam's From Orphanage to Olympic, Ningthouja Deepak's Abhiram Saba and Dr AK Bimola's Langol Challabi.
The nominees for Best Actor (Male) are Olen in Lallasi Pal, Raju Nong in Meera Memcha and Denny Likmabam in Kaorage while nominees of Best Actor (Female) includes Devita in Lakhipurgi Lakhipiyari, Kamala in Mitrang Keithel, and Binata in Kaorage.
